Favorite Product of the Week: 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush from MAC Cosmetics

187 Duo Fibre Face Brush from MAC Cosmetics. When it comes to choosing my makeup brushes, I grow really anxious especially with those different shapes, sizes, materials and brands. However, I have gradually started to develop a real obsession with MAC brushes. Apart from being more expensive than any brushes from other brands and manufacturers, they are a real good investment for their durability and impressive functionality.

Recently, I have been introduced to the 187 Duo Fibre Brush from MAC Cosmetics, which I have been using to apply my cream foundation. Before using that brush, I used to apply foundation with my own hands which usually caused me to use bigger quantities of foundation and sometimes resulted in having a cake-y unnatural effect. That is why I started looking for a good foundation brush that would allow me to have a natural airbrushed effect without having to pile up too much product on my skin.

As usual, I’ve started my brush-hunt and have read many great reviews about that 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush.

When you first get, you’d be amazed by its big volume which would make you think that it is a powder brush. Well, it can be used for powder-based products as well, but don’t let the size and texture fool you. You just need to learn how to use this stippling brush properly to get the best effect and still preserve its good shape.

To use it, you need to:

  • Pour some foundation on the back of your hands.
  • Dab the white tips of the 187 Duo Fibre Brush on the foundation.
  • Apply the foundation onto your face by stippling the product onto your skin (Do NOT press the brush too hard onto your skin as you do not want to ruin the brush. Remember that the white tips are the only part that needs to be moving).
  • For better coverage, move the brush in small circular motions on your face to blend in the foundation properly.

Note: Use this brush if you have a flawless skin and need light to moderate coverage. If you need more coverage, then try the 190 Foundation Brush from MAC Cosmetics.

(You can use the Brush Cleanser from MAC Cosmetics when cleaning this brush).
