Favorite Product of the Week: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Eye makeup, for me, is a deal breaker. Maybe it’s all because I’m a hijabi and naturally there is an indirect focus on my eyes and brows. That is why eyeliner products are a constant staple in my makeup bag. For more than 4 years, I’ve been experimenting with dozens of eyeliners from multiple brands; pencil liners, gel pots, liquid containers…, etc., you name it! However, as years go by, I have less and less time. Using an angled brush with a gel liner as a base before I apply a topcoat of jet black glossy shade is no longer an option, especially when you only have ten minutes in a mall bathroom before you run to watch your new favorite blockbuster.

Discovering the Holy Grail of All Eyeliners!

Luckily, my friend got me what I can consider the newest REVELATION in the eye-makeup world; Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. She was telling me that she had two weeks until she got back home from Dubai and asked if I needed any goodies (She knows quite well that Egypt is the nowhere land when it comes to Makeup & Beauty products especially after the skyrocketing exchange rates), so I took the chance without any thinking and asked her to get the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner that has been celebrated by so many beauty bloggers and instagrammers worldwide.

First Impression

I was utterly impressed by the sleek yet simple packaging and the very intricate brush. It glides perfectly. The good thing is that you can control the drawing very easily and not worry about making any random strokes that would ruin the whole look and make you start all over again.

The BAM Effect!

In terms of color, I got the Satin Black shade which is very intense and glossy. Once you apply it, it dries right away, BUT you need to take care because if you want to wipe off something for a finishing edit, you might need to use a cue tip with a little moisturizing cream or makeup remover on top. It’s all because the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is waterproof and cannot be easily wiped off.

The Aftermath

Speaking of the wipe-off process, I personally found that the BioDerma Micelle Solution to be the perfect remover. No stains. No panda eyes. You just need a cotton pad and some solution on top, and you’re all set!

(N.B: I got the Kat Von D Liner from Sephora for 99 AED. Prices may vary.)
